In pre–World War I East Africa, an adventurer and an unlikely British partner get pulled into dangerous scrapes while trying to outmaneuver occupying German forces. As tensions rise and war looms, their personal losses and rivalries push them toward a risky plan to strike a German warship hidden near the coast.
