West Coast Swing is a fun, modern swing dance that has roots on the east coast, in the original Lindy Hop swing of the 1920's and 30s big band era, and it migrated west and developed in California, with current music. In the 1980's the state legislature adopted the dance to be California's official state dance, and it continues to thrive right in the capitol, as well as everywhere. and its popularity continues to grow throughout the world!
