The Song of Her is a multi-award-winning short thriller — Official Selection, winner, and Special Jury Award recipient at the Festival of Cinema NYC — described as a delicious slice of sinister perfection — a deft blend of Gothic imagery and low-tech police state potboiler that spirals into a tale of pleasure, pain, and the incestuous relationship between the two. Shot in gorgeous black and white, the film gives its world a cold, dilapidated, industrial feel, peppered with stained glass windows, pipe organs, and naked flesh. A Gothic universe of power, submission, and hidden desire in which the line between pleasure and punishment is deliberately and provocatively blurred. Free with ads.
