Multi-award-winning horror short selected as part of NALIP's Women of Color Incubator — one of only four filmmakers chosen from hundreds of applications in the inaugural year, each receiving a $25,000 grant and industry mentorship. The day of her father's funeral, Leticia returns to the childhood home she has long kept at a distance. A supernatural presence awakens inside the house — something that has been waiting — and begins pulling her toward sounds coming from deep within the walls. As she follows them, secrets that her family has buried for years begin to surface, forcing her to question everything she believed about the people she loved. The Blue Drum is written, directed, and edited by award-winning Mexican-American filmmaker Angelita Mendoza (The Last Light). World premiere at Screamfest Horror Film Festival. Also screened at HollyShorts Midnight Madness, New York Latino Film Festival, Reel Sisters of the Diaspora, San Francisco Another Hole in the Head, Female Voices Rock, and Manchester International Film Festival.
