The most famous film version of Japan's most famous tale. In 1701, after their lord is forced to take his own life over a breach of court protocol, his loyal retainers become masterless ronin and wait patiently, for more than a year, to avenge him. An austere, epic two-part classic of honor, duty and sacrifice. Free with ads.
