In 1900, a wealthy Deep South family tries to secure a deal with a Chicago industrialist to build cotton mills in their town. As money and influence become the stakes, relatives pressure one another, pulling a young woman into a tense struggle between loyalty, conscience, and a household driven by ambition and greed.
