Just before the Civil War breaks out, a very dangerous bounty hunter by the name of Reginald Richardson visits the family of an old friend and associate Robert Smith. He murders Robert Smith, his son Coltan Smith, and his wife Tara then collects the bounty on Tara, his friend’s murdered wife. Chasing the money trial, he heads down to the south to the Blufield Plantation to stay with his old friend, Samson Blufield. Here we meet Charles Blufield, a house slave whose mother has passed, whose father, Joshua, has run away without him, and whose brother David has been sold off into slavery. He runs the staff of the house and tries to keep them out of trouble as they think of a way to escape. Reggie sees Charles and figures he can use him to help collect bounties but Kyle Blufield, the only son of Samson Blufield, won’t let Charles out of his sight and decides to tag along. They are both trained by Reggie to be excellent bounty hunters and this is proven during the Civil War when they fight side by side. They are killing machines and until Charles comes face to face with his father who is fighting in the Union Army against them. His father almost kills him but hesitates and that’s the last time they see each other. When they return home from war, Samson decides to keep the slaves until they find another source of income and Charles decides to take matters into his own hands. Before Charles can act, Reggie gives him a final proposition. He tells him of a job that will grant him enough money to be free and to free all of the slaves but the bounty they must hunt down is his father. Thinking he may be able to save his father and the slaves too, Charles decides to join Reggie and maybe get to his father first. Robert Smith and Coltan Smith, having not actually died at the hands of Reggie, are older now and have served their country working with the Pinkerton Agency, a group of highly skilled men. They are also sent to find Charles’s father Joshua because he apparently stole over a million dollars’ worth of Union and Rebel money from a money train and that’s why there is a bounty on his head. They take the job but in hopes that it will draw out Reggie who they’ve been seeking revenge on all of these years. The Smiths and Reggie’s group cross paths in Missouri, where a contact, Jethro Teegs, is supposed to be waiting. Reggie’s group kills Jethro and takes his map and as they ride out of town, Robert and Coltan follow. The Smiths ambush Reggie’s group and they flee but Charles is left behind with the map. The Smiths agree to take him with them and they head west where they eventually meet the Garnick family. They let them stay at their ranch and work while they try to find the last known location of Joshua and the money. While there, Charles meets Sophie who has also been taken in by the Garnick family and Coltan meets Cheyenne, a daughter of the Garnick family and they begin to fall for each other. Eventually, they find three men who work with Joshua causing trouble. They are harassing Cheyenne one night and as Charles and Coltan move in to stop them, Robert and the local Sheriff shoot them and blame the murders on Charles. The plan is to put him in Jail so that Joshua will come out of hiding and get him. But instead of coming out of hiding, Joshua sends men to bust him out of Jail and take him back to his hideout cave. While in the cave, Joshua reveals that his brother David is a slave to nearby Native Americans and that he’s negotiating for him to be released. While Joshua and Charles leave to retrieve his brother, Coltan and Robert have followed the trail to the cave and decide take the money. Once Joshua and Charles get to the Native American camp, Joshua trades Charles for David’s freedom and they leave Charles there in captivity. Coltan has secretly followed and frees Charles from them and they ride back to town. Meanwhile back at town, Robert has the money but doesn’t know where Coltan is so he can’t leave. He is met by Reggie’s gang and Joshua’s gang when Charles and Coltan arrive. A shootout commences and Charles is shot. No one is left but Reggie’s gang who have taken Sophie and Cheyenne hostage, and Coltan and Golden. They find that Charles is not dead. They patch him up and follow Reggie’s’ gang. Back at the Blufield Plantation, they rescue the girls and the slaves and storm the big house killing everyone within. Now that they have the money and are deciding what to do with it when a treasure hunter disguised as a priest attacks them. It cuts to black and that’s where it ends.
