In rural Georgia in 1977, a lonely, imaginative kid dreams of outer space and a life beyond her small town. When a national contest offers a once-in-a-lifetime chance to be heard, she pulls together a ragtag scout troop of fellow outsiders, learning confidence, teamwork, and friendship along the way.
